Who doesn't love a little retail therapy.

You're scrolling. You feel empty. Uninspired. Creatively stalled. So you shop. A little dopamine hit. A new thing. A momentary feeling of expansion. I love you and...it's a band-aid on a creative wound.

Your soul is craving creative provocation. It's asking you to stir your own pot, to challenge yourself, to do something that matters. But instead of that, you're consuming. Buying. Hoarding. Trying to fill an internal void with external things.

And it never works. Because the void isn't asking for stuff. It's asking for expression.

Retail therapy is provocation in its shadow. It looks like you're taking action with joy. You're actually just numb-shopping your way through a creative drought.

We are now in Cancer season, and although we have moved into the fire element in Soulprism Alchemy, this is the yin of the yang. The softness of the heart's expression.

Cancer, a sign deeply rooted in safety and security. As a Cancer, you may find solace in the familiar, nurturing your inner world within the confines of your protective shell.

We want to protect the ooie gooie vulnerability of our heart! We can also be a bit "crabby" when we are pushed out of our comfort zone!

Fire element fires up the heart, pericardium, triple burner, and stomach. These all work together to support your capacity to express and create.

You can't express what you don't have capacity for. And you don't build capacity by staying comfortable. You build it by stretching.

I learned this viscerally yesterday. I ran 20 kilometers. (I am training for a marathon)

Let's just say it's been a while since I ran that far! I was definately stretching my heart to its capacity. I was pushing my limits, feeling my edge, building resilence and strength, so I could go further. I was building the capacity to support the fire season of expression.

When you run 20k, something happens in your heart. Your cardiovascular system expands. Your lungs deepen. Your nervous system recalibrates to handle more. You're literally stretching the container that holds your vitality.

Your stomach (digestion of experiences and food) needs that capacity too. Your pericardium (heart protection) needs flexibility. Your triple burner (stress response) needs resilience. Your heart itself needs to know it can expand.

This is what moving from Cancer comfort to fire season expression actually requires: stretching your capacity NOW so you can express THEN.

Aligned provocation is your natural state.

The Work (Low Expression):

In the low expression, you're numb-shopping your way through a creative drought. You're hoarding, because of fear and scarcity. You're looking for quick dopamine hits instead of building real capacity. Your comfort zone feels safer than the edge, so you stay there.

The work is choosing creation over consumption.
