Together, Gates 64 and 63 weave the right brain (dreamy, imaginative) with the left brain (logical, questioning). They pressure us toward certainty—but the real alchemy happens when we surrender certainty for mystery.

When we collapse the wave too soon—deciding on “the answer”—we shut down infinite possibility. But when we stay in wonder, imagination, and inquiry, we open to truth and illumination.

• Ritualized self-care (light a candle, create a sacred atmosphere) to turn Virgo-style structure into devotion rather than discipline.

[00:01:00] Tammy: I really wanted to bring my friend Jeana McDonald into the conversation today because her unconscious sun and unconscious earth are at the exact axis of the eclipse. So this is really going to play out for her, not only the next six months, but moving forward.

Jeana: Thanks Tammy. I'm excited to talk about this and learn, 'cause I'm actually learning as we're going.

Gate 64: Confusion → Imagination → Illumination

Jeana: Yes, gate 64 is my sun and Gate 63 is my earth moon. That’s unconscious, right? … The themes of Gate 64 are confusion → imagination → illumination. When we’re in the shadow, we spin in confusion. As we grow, imagination sparks, and then illumination—the light bulb moments—arrive.

Tammy: Yes! And I love this because Gate 64 is my moon, so I totally resonate. What you said about certainty really stuck: looking for certainty in a world built on mystery is the trap.

Jeana: Exactly. When we grasp for certainty, we close off possibility. And then came that mantra we loved: “I am not confused, I am mid-revelation.”

Gate 63: Doubt → Inquiry → Truth

Tammy: And then Gate 63’s path is doubt → inquiry → truth. In the shadow, it starts in doubt. But when we move into curiosity and wonder, truth reveals itself.

Jeana: I always call Gate 63 the gate of the Wonderer. Instead of clarity, it’s about saying: I wonder if… I wonder how… And when you feed the universe with wonder, it brings back possibilities.

The Trap of Certainty

Tammy: The danger of having a defined head is being addicted to certainty. You compartmentalize all the information, but it creates narrow thinking. The shadow is clinging to false certainty instead of staying open.

Jeana: Eclipses shake this up—they disrupt mental narratives. They can feel confusing, but really they reveal hidden beliefs that are ready to be released.

From Fog to Possibility

Jeana: Confusion can feel like fog, but when you sit in the fog long enough you start to see shapes—dragons, mermaids, magic. That’s the beauty of allowing uncertainty.

Tammy: Yes! And Virgo season is the perfect time to plant the seeds of your field of dreams. During eclipses, the soil is shaken, so it’s not about locking things in stone—it’s about dreaming, imagining, and wondering what’s possible.

Embodying the Energy

Jeana: Some ways to work with this energy: float tanks or water rituals for Pisces, grounding breathwork or somatic hip-openers for Virgo, and messy journaling to dump out the confusion without needing resolution.

Tammy: Rituals matter. Light a candle before moving your body, make it feel sacred. This isn’t about rigid discipline, it’s about devotion. Taking messy action beats overthinking every time.

Coaching Alchemy in Real Time

Tammy: One of the things I love about working with Jeana is how she thrives in containers of chaos. She can see through fog and lead others to clarity, not by telling them what to do, but by asking the right questions. That’s her lighthouse energy.
